Coby White Shines, Bulls Falter Again vs Suns

Coming into Saturday, the Bulls were on a 7 game losing streak amid missing numerous bodies from the rotation. That streak has reached a season-high 8 games as they lost to the Suns, 112-104.

In what was the most exhilarating basketball the United Center has seen all season, the glimpse of life displayed Saturday night was just that, a glimpse. The man responsible for that is the one and only.

Alec Jacoby “Coby” White. What a force. 33 points off the bench on 11/22 shooting, coupled with a 7/13 showing from deep. A powerful performance in the face of brewing adversity on his place in the Bulls rotation.

White essentially was the only source of scoring in a stagnant Bulls offense. A 17-point lead he helped build was erased as the Bulls racked up 26 turnovers that costed the team yet another winnable game.

According to head coach Jim Boylen, he doesn’t plan on starting Coby White because of “a voice with the second unit.” The Bulls have won 19 games up til today and have one single win in the month of February. Who cares for the development of a bench unit when you’ve won 7 games over the past two months? The priority at hand is lost and who’s to say it’ll be regained before the season is completed.
